Updated: June 15, 2008

Windows XP Service Pack 3

Chromeleon® 6.8 Service Pack 4 has been validated for use with Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 3.

Microsoft released Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) to the public via both the Microsoft Download Center and Windows Update on May 6, 2008. Additional information is available from Microsoft.
Chromeleon release 6.8 SP4 has been tested for compatibility with Windows XP SP3. There are no conflicts. Earlier versions of Chromeleon will not be validated for use with SP3.

Windows XP Service Pack 2

Chromeleon 6.7 SP7 or higher is recommended for use with Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Microsoft announced the release of Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) on August 6, 2004.
Chromeleon 6.7 SP 7 has been validated for use with Windows XP SP2. One very minor compatibility issue remains and is described below. For older Chromeleon versions, the majority of compatibility issues are resolved with Chromeleon 6.6 SP4 and Chromeleon 6.5 SP8.

Minor compatibility issue:
Firewall Exemption Needed for Chromeleon IP Addressing Utility

Some Dionex instrument models can be configured to use a TCP/IP LAN port instead of a USB connection. Before an instrument's TCP/IP LAN port can be used, its IP address must be set. For most instruments, this is done using an IP utility called CMIPUTIL.EXE that is provided on the Chromeleon CD.

With the Windows Firewall of WinXP SP2 enabled, the Chromeleon IP utility does not operate properly unless it is added to the Windows Firewall Exemption List. This exemption can easily be added by selecting <Unblock> in the message box displayed by Windows XP the first time that the IP utility is launched.
