IC and RFIC Columns

Thermo Fisher Scientific offers a complete line of IC and RFIC™ columns for use with hydroxide, carbonate, and methanesulfonic acid (MSA) eluents. The Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ IonPac™ polymeric columns address a variety of chromatographic separation modes including ion exchange, ion exclusion, reversed phase ion pairing, and ion suppression. Our unique column chemistries are designed to solve specific applications. We offer a variety of selectivities and capacities for simple and complex sample matrices. Ion-exchange and ion-exclusion separations can be used to determine a variety of analytes including inorganic anions, oxyhalides, organic acids, oxyanions, cations, amines, and transition metals. Hydroxide-Selective Anion-Exchange Packed Columns

Choose a hydroxide eluent column for use with an eluent generator for gradient work or trace analysis. Hydroxide eluents for isocratic or gradient elution are very convenient with Reagent-Free Ion Chromatography (RFIC) technology using electrolytic generation of the eluent.

Carbonate Eluent Anion-Exchange Packed Columns

Dionex carbonate eluent columns provide well-characterized isocratic separations, including regulated methods for drinking and wastewater. Carbonate eluent columns are available in a wide range of capacities and are compatible with RFIC-EG and RFIC-ER systems.

Specialty Anion-Exchange Packed Columns

These anion-exchange columns support special applications, such as non-suppressible eluents, in combination with a variety of detection modes, including amperometric and UV-VIS detection.

Cation-Exchange Packed Columns

Dionex cation-exchange columns provide high-resolution separations of inorganic cations, ammonium, and amines. They provide an excellent approach to separations of alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, alkylamines, alkanolamines and biogenic amines.

Transition Metal Packed Columns

Cation-exchange chromatography is ideal for determination of transition and lanthanide metals in a variety of sample matrices. Because most transition and lanthanide metals are incompatible with suppressed conductivity detection, postcolumn reagent absorbance detection is typically used.

Ion-Exclusion Packed Columns

In ion-exclusion separations, Donnan exclusion causes strong acids to elute in the void volume of the column. Weak acids that are protonated in the acidic eluent are not subject to Donnan exclusion and penetrate into the pores of the resin.

Hydroxide-Selective Anion-Exchange Monolithic Columns

The new IonSwift monolithic anion-exchange columns provide high-speed, high-resolution separations of small molecules including inorganic anions and organic acids.

IC Trap Columns

IonPac® Trap Columns are designed to prevent eluent contaminants from causing interfering peaks during gradient ion chromatography.

IC Concentrator Columns

IonPac and IonSwift concentrator columns are designed primarily for high purity water analysis.  The concentrator column strips ions from a measured volume of an aqueous sample matrix, concentrating the analyte species and lowering detection limits.
